Earlier this year, I reconnected with my friend Ashley at a metal show. Seeing her art on social media inspired me to commission a portrait of my favorite musician, Billy Strings, based on a live photo taken by the bands photographer, Jesse Faatz. Ashley, the great-granddaughter of 20th-century painter Maxfield Parrish, has inherited his talent and primarily focuses on prose, making prints of her art rare.
