Three CD set from cult Swedish power metal merchants Lefay featuring the three full length studio albums they recorded while their original band, Morgana Lefay, was on hiatus. The Lefay albums were all released via Noise Records. CD 1 features their majestic 1999 effort 'The Seventh Seal', while CD 2 features the riff heavy follow up 'S. O. S. ', released just a year later in 2000. The final disc, CD 3, features the band's 1999 re-recording of the debut Morgana Lefay album 'Symphony Of The Damned', which surfaced in it's original form in 1990. Originally formed in Bollnas in Sweden in 1986 under the name Damage, the band changed their moniker to Morgana Lefay in 1989 and independently released their now highly collectable debut album 'Symphony of The Damned', eventually leading to a deal with Black Mark. After disbanding in 1997, a dispute over the rights to the name 'Morgana Lefay' led to the formation of Lefay centred around singer Charles Rytkönen and guitarist Tony Eriksson, joined by one-time Dark Tranquillity drummer Robin Engström. Lefay recorded three albums before the reformation of Morgana Lefay once more in 2004, joining forces once again with Black Mark as a result. Lefay's sound has proved hard to categorize, drawing on elements of heavy metal, doom and power metal to create a bombastic and sometimes gothic style that has earned comparisons to the likes of Candlemass, Savatage and Nevermore. The re-recorded version of 'Symphony of The Damned' included here features four bonus cover versions of songs by Nazareth, KISS, Twisted Sister and Eric Clapton. This release is complemented with the addition of liner notes from respected metal writer Chris Chantler, who conducted a brand new exclusive interview with vocalist Charles Rytkönen regarding the legacy of these cult albums.
