This item was taken out of the box and installed for a brief moment until we decided to go with a dimmer switch. This switch is not a dimmer. You do not need a neutral wire for installation. You will need to purchase decora smart wifi bridge as this is NOT included. Overall we love the leviton switches in our home. Ours easily
